As part of the events during the pilgrimage march from Carrollton to Montgomery, several African Americans testified at a voting rights hearing held in Selma, Alabama. Written on verso: Alabamians Testify -- Testifying at the voting rights hearing in Selma, Alabama last February during the pilgrimage from Carrollton to Montgomery are (left to right) Anthony Butler of Chowtac County, Mattie Gay of Pickens County and Wendell Paris of Sumpter County. All three witnesses told of instances of intimidation of black voters and expressed concern about the widespread fear in the black communities where they live.

Written on verso: ALABAMA SCLC -- Mrs. Julia Wilder of Pickens County, Alabama sits in on a meeting during the Alabama SCLC convention in Selma. Convicted on a contemptible charge of vote fraud for aiding elderly and handicapped citizens in voting, Mrs. Wilder, along with comrade Maggie Bozeman (not pictured), was sentenced to serve time in prison. SCLC is currently engaged in a national campaign to win their freedom. Mrs. Wilder began serving five years on January 11th and Mrs. Bozeman, four years.

Teenage students stage a pray-in on the sidewalk in front of the Dallas County Courthouse in Selma, Alabama. Caption on photo reads: (SEX1) SELMA, ALA., Feb. 11 -- PRAY-IN AT COURT HOUSE -- Teen-aged Negro students tried successfully a new tactic in their demonstration today at Selma, Ala. They staged a pray-in on the sidewalk in front of the Dallas County court house, in their drive for the right to vote. Sheriff James Clark allowed the demonstration to proceed unmolested.
