This audio features a presentation by James Evans. In the presentation, he discusses Afro-American religion and literature. He explains how both are cultural acts in the struggle for liberation. Evans further also discusses the Afro-American autobiography. There are two responses to his presentation. The first is from professor Houston Baker of the University of Pennsylvania. The second response is from Professor Jerome Long of Wesleyan University of Middletown, Connecticut.
