Attendees will learn about a recently-digitized selection of archival materials from the Voter Education Project (VEP), an Atlanta-based, non-partisan, non-profit organization that undertook large-scale voter registration, voter turnout, and voter education campaigns in eleven southern states. Beyond merely presenting the unique historical significance offered by my digitized selection of VEP materials, this presentation will also discuss the numerous lessons, insights, and values offered by my learning of the overall digitization process. Throughout my 12-week internship, I have received invaluable experience and connections across multiple disciplines that I will carry with me throughout my career.
