As part of the events during the pilgrimage march from Carrollton to Montgomery, several African Americans testified at a voting rights hearing held in Selma, Alabama. Written on verso: Alabamians Testify -- Testifying at the voting rights hearing in Selma, Alabama last February during the pilgrimage from Carrollton to Montgomery are (left to right) Anthony Butler of Chowtac County, Mattie Gay of Pickens County and Wendell Paris of Sumpter County. All three witnesses told of instances of intimidation of black voters and expressed concern about the widespread fear in the black communities where they live.
