00:02:43Children Growing Up in Cascade Area: Participant said that both of her children were raised in Atlanta; son went to Hillside Academy for 1 year, then went to Sara Smith in Buckhead for Elementary, and Sutton Middle School for a year. After, he went to military school in the 8th grade. He was the first black battalion commander in the history of the school. He graduated from there, Riverside Military Academy; Daughter attended Atlanta Preparatory School, but closed down because of the leadership. She attended Ridgeview in Buckhead, then to Sara Smith Middle School. Then she attended Riverwood High School; mentioned the MTM program (Minority to Majority program). It was a bussing system that brought minority students to schools in Buckhead and Northeast Atlanta. This occurred during the 1980s; did not bring her to schools in the area because they wanted her kids to get a �better quality education�.

There was a place called �Little Vietnam� by Memorial/Moreland area.
